the Pencil Case project
Making an impact, one pencil case at a time!
Our Story
A word from our founder
Welcome to The Pencil Case Project! I founded the pencil case project in February 2024 by myself, having seen the dire educational conditions in which children are subjected to in developing countries. As a solo founder, I feel passionate about supporting the difficulties that children have accessing education, if they aren't even equipped for the classroom with basic tools like stationery and jotters. I also recognised as a young female founder, that it is vital that we nourish and encourage female attendance and participation in education globally. That's why I decided to found the Pencil Case Project with the aspiration to make a difference in education worldwide. Since then we have grown rapidly and we now have 2 partner schools in Senegal and Indonesia, with many more lined up for the near future. Our team has also grown from 1 to 3 and between us we have over 40 years experience in the education industry, so we understand the need to help children access education. There are lots of ways to get involved from donating to spreading the word on social media but we recognise that none of this would be possible without you which is why we invite you to join our community, who are giving children the opportunity to learn.
WHO WE ARE
Our core values
The Pencil Case Project was established with one clear goal in mind and that is to provide children in developing countries with school supplies and the tools they need to succeed in the educational environment. From day one our sole vision and core values encompass our three main pillars:
Dedication to ensure that every child has the tools they need to learn but also in our ambition to help leave the world a better place than we left it.
Passion for creating an organization that helps some of the most disadvantaged children to achieve great things.
Drive to make sure that The Pencil Case Project is catering for the needs of every child in as many schools as possible globally.
These three pillars, combined with our experienced team who have over 40 years combined experience in the education sector, ensure we as an organization are committing to providing purpose driven work and enabling as many children to access education, wherever they are.
WHAT WE DO
Collect Donations
One of our key roles as an organization is to collect donations in order to sort and then ship them to our partner schools. We collect these generous donations from members of the public, schools, businesses and organizations and this can range from a financial contribution to physical stationary to put directly into the pencil case. A typical pencil case could include: a ballpoint pen, an eraser, a ruler, an assortment of coloured pencils and a sharpener.
Send to our partnerships and distributors
Our partners are integral to the work we do and as an organization we partner with charities that are passionate about making an impact on education globally. These partners have contacts with schools in developing countries, which we then ship the pencil cases to.
Make an impact
Ultimately The Pencil Case Project exists to make an impact. We do this through providing children in schools in developing countries with the tools they need to succeed in the classroom. This means that they have equal opportunity to learn and helps to ensure everybody is attending class with the supplies that they deserve.
